Growing Gardens CSA

The Growing Gardens CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) program is operated by the dedicated participants of our Cultiva Youth Project. Each CSA share directly supports the development of life, leadership, and professional skills in youth aged 14-18. These participants plant, care for, and harvest crops from a 2-acre farm in Boulder, then prepare and distribute CSA shares during weekly pickups throughout the growing season.

What does it mean to purchase a CSA share?

CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture, a farming model that fosters a direct connection between people and their local farming community.

Learn More

CSA, or Community Supported Agriculture, is a farming model that builds a connection between people and their local farms. In this model, community members purchase a “share” of the farm’s produce before the growing season starts. This upfront support provides farmers with the financial flexibility to buy seeds and supplies and helps them plan for the number of shares to grow. CSA members also benefit by receiving more produce throughout the season than the cost of their share. By supporting our CSA, you also contribute to the growth and development of teens in our Cultiva Youth Project.

Each week during the growing season, CSA members pick up their share of freshly harvested, organically grown produce. Our pick-up operates in a “market style,” allowing members to choose from a selection of produce each week.

By joining a CSA, members agree to share in the abundance of the harvest, but also understand they may share in any losses due to weather, pests, or other unforeseen events.

The Growing Gardens CSA is unique in that members get the chance to meet and interact with the young farmers, learning directly from them about the produce available each week. Additionally, members receive a weekly newsletter filled with photos showcasing the youth’s growth and farm progress, along with special insights and seasonal recipes. Your participation in our CSA program directly supports the leadership development of our Cultiva Youth Project while providing you with fresh, organically grown produce every week!
